Sunday, February 18th 2018 – With its vision to foster renewable energy share in the global energy mix by fostering research and development in the field the Association of Borderless Renewables announces an appointment of Ms Afra Al Owais as a Non-Executive Director.
Afra Al Owais leads the Energy Management and Audit Department at the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA). Afra was specially selected for her current role after distinguishing herself with several strategic projects, including SEWA Sustainability Pathway and Building Retrofit program in the Sharjah Emirate. She is passionate about environmental stewardship and promotion of a green growth. Performing as a Sustainable and Renewable Energy Engineer, Afra contributes to policy and research in energy efficiency. Her vision is to strengthen change in consumer behavior and energy efficiency practices. Her long-term vision is to foster deployment of solar energy in Sharjah.
The Association of Borderless Renewables is the non-profit organization which exists to encourage the renewable energy and increase its share in the global energy mix. The Association represents renewable energy producers, helps its members to promote their sustainable businesses and supports small and medium enterprises to enter the renewable energy market.
