Ningde, China — The World Energy Storage Conference 2025 commenced in Ningde, Fujian province, on Sept 17, with the theme “A New Era of Energy Storage, Pioneering a Net-zero Future”.
The event aims to create a globally influential platform for exchange and cooperation in the energy storage sector, promoting sustainable and high-quality industry development. Experts, scholars, and industry leaders from around the world have gathered to discuss cutting-edge technologies and strategies for energy advancement.
The conference includes a main forum, several themed forums, and various special activities. A total of 18 project and strategic cooperation agreements were signed, focusing on areas such as new batteries, innovative energy storage, new materials, and zero-carbon parks. These agreements are expected to bolster the resilience and security of the new energy industry and its supply chain.
During the conference preparations, Ningde secured 22 new industrial projects, with a planned total investment of 36.7 billion yuan ($5.16 billion). These include 14 manufacturing projects, two research projects, and 6 technology innovation projects.
During the opening ceremony and main forum, six significant achievements were unveiled. The highlight was the joint release of the “Consensus on Jointly Building a Zero-Carbon Innovation Ecosystem (Ningde)” by representatives of 10 national industry organizations. This consensus seeks to unify industry efforts, deepen collaboration between key carbon emissions sectors and the new energy industry, and foster a robust alliance to build a zero-carbon innovation ecosystem, contributing to global carbon neutrality goals.
Coinciding with the conference, the Ningde International Exposition of New Energy Industry and Energy Storage Equipment 2025 also opened. This expo, an important concurrent event, gathers 110 upstream and downstream enterprises in the global energy storage industry chain, forming an exhibition matrix led by major enterprises and innovative forces.
